Power Driver Seat Memory not working

Post by granitestate68 »

Hi,

I recently needed to replace the battery in my 850 and now the Memory settings won't work on the drivers side seat. It worked fine before the battery swap. I disconnected the battery a 2nd time just in case it needed to be for a better word "rebooted" no help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Nice site by the way. Look forward to reading some great info.

Well....it's rather simple....you've lost the memory of the seats due to the battery being disconnected, so the memory buttons will have to be programmed again.

If this is not the problem, try locking and unlocking the door from the inside (with doors closed) several times and see if this restores operation.

Thanks,

I knew I lost the memory and tried to reset the seat positions with no luck. I only get a click but no movement. The seats work fine otherwise. I'll try the locking and unlocking or are you just yanking my chain

No, seriously....locking and unlocking doors from the inside for some reason helps reset or get rid of quirks in numerous electrical items in the cabin. At least that's been my experience both with our old 850 and newer ('98 ) S70. I'm not yanking your chain...

Hey, I gave it a shot with the locks, probably 7 or 8 times but no luck. Anything else I can try. Appreciate any help I can get. It just seemed so out of whack that the locks would help but :?: . Thanks again.

Sorry to hear that that didn't work. I don't know what to tell you at this point....maybe review how to set the memory function. Maybe you're doing something wrong on that.
