2006 xc90 temp sensor location

Post by whaleplane »

Hey guys,

Is the temperature sensor on the XC90 located under the dash above the gas pedal? I changed it out on my v70 and I'm assuming it is in the same place but you know what they say about assuming...

Do you mean Engine Coolant Temp Sensor, (Volvo) part # 8627679? This part is located at the thermostat housing. If you are speaking of interior climate temp sensor, I dunno.

The evaporator temp probe is in the same place as on your V70.

The cabin temp sensor (A/C-heat) is behind three slots over the passenger temp knob, do not go poking around through the slots, the sensor is a thermistor that is very easily broken.

Thanks for the help.

Jimmy57 that's what I'm looking for. Starting to see some of the same symptoms in my xc90 that I saw in my v70.

If you've broken the sensor behind the three slots, how do you repair it?

When mine was broken I bought a climate control module from e-bay and soldered the thermister from that on onto mine. Unfortunatly I did not think to measure the resistence of the thermister or check to see if it was a negitive or positive co-efficent type.
good luck
