Painting wheels and calipers

First a brief history:
I am the sort of person who likes to tinker with things, BUT I will not touch the engine, I have tried a few times in the past with other cars and they dies

there for I just deal with electrics and aesthetics, this way the car still works LOL

So my next project is to paint the wheels silver and hope to paint the calipers red.

My questions: What is the best paint to use?
How can I get rid of the rust look and dimpling on the wheels and calipers?

Are these wheel steel or aluminum?
Caliper Paint: Albany, but there is one better, made in Germany. Since you are in the UK, you have access to it than we do.
Jack car up and put them on stands (All Fours). Clean the brakes with brake cleaner real good. Allow to dry. Tape of part of the rotors, and follow the instructions on the box. For best result, allow 12 hours to cure before re-install wheels, and 24 hours before driving.

ERM.... as I said not a petrol head, they are wheels

I should imagine they are steel as they are dimply and a little rusty in places.
