240 Cold/hot idle problem
240 Cold/hot idle problem
Please help.. My 92 240 runs great except when 1st starting in the a.m. it will not idle till I drive for about 5 minutes. Also if the car is warm and I shut it off and restart it, it will not idle till I drive it for 5 minutes. Subsequently, I need to have my foot on the gas and brake at times to keep it from stalling. A local Volvo repair shop suggested it is a bad MAS. I've had those go bad but the symtoms were different. Any suggestions?

Have you checked for fault codes using the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) unit in the engine compartment? Instructions are pinned at the top of this forum.
