2009 XC90, sunroof will not close, how can I manually close?

Post by thrownhill »

Rolled all windows down and opened sunroof, went to roll up windows and close sunroof and sunroof will not close. I have tried the key trick to reset the computer, as well as disconnect the battery. The sunroof still will not close. How do I manually screw the sunroof closed so I can at least avoid the rain until I get it fixed? Thanks in advance for any help.

There is no key trick but there is a use the remote to lock and unlock to exit transport mode "trick". Transport mode is something that makes sunroof not functional.
If that doesn't work then check fuse for UEM.

Thanks for the response. I checked the fuse and its good. What do I need to do with the remote to exit transport mode?

Also, if anyone knows how to manually (screwdriver) close the damn thing so I can at least drive around without fear of rain before I can get it to the dealer, I would greatly appreciate it.

Check the owners manual. There should be instructions on how to manually crank it closed as well as tools in the tool kit to do it.

I had this issue and unconnected my battery, waited for 1 full minute and then reconnected the battery. That allowed me to close the roof from a tilted position. However, I still can't open it again once it closed. However, this DID allow for me to close it and prevent the elements from entering the cabin.
