newbie with new 850 rough idle

Hello everyone
I`m new to volvo ownership and to this site, been looking around, its awsome !
I`ve got a 95 850 2.5 auto 10 valve non turbo in really lovely condition, everything still working 103000mls , and picked it up for £300 on ebay !
This car is lovely to drive, really shifts and if driven sympathetically its actually reasonably economical.
It has a rough idle though, as soon as any accelerator is applied it goes away. But at standstill it idles around 400-600 rpm , which makes it shake a bit.
pulled code for no signal for air intake temp sensor , so replaced that, changed air filter because it was a bit grubby. going to put new set of plugs in (when I can find my torx driver). still a bit rough though .
Is there any way I can just turn the idle up ? or any other ideas ?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Website/Forum.

Check all your vacuum hoses too. You can search in the database to become familiar with it and learn more about Stage Zero. You may want to consider changing your distributor/cap/rotor when you do the spark plugs.

thanks , I changed the plugs today, also took out idle air control valve and used loads of
carb cleaner on it. also took off the distributor cap and had a look, its a bit worn so ordered a new one and a rotor arm. There was a screw thing under the cover that adjusted the idle speed so I turned it up a bit, Its idling nicely now at about 750-800rpm. think I`ll flush and replace the coolant next time I get a free afternoon as well !
