If you've donen the PCV job I would make absolutely sure all the passage ways are clear. To do this you need to drop the oil pan and confirm the one leading to the bottom of the PCV box is clean. There is an image somewhere that I saved posted on another forum, sorry I don't have it.
Also have you done a compression test and leak down test? Those two tests can confirm bad piston rings.
Worse comes to worse you can always create an oil catch can instead of pulling the engine. That would be the simpler, MUCH less expensive, way to relieve your crankcase pressure.

so I know this is old but I just did the compression test myself and I am currently in the process of replacing piton rings.
Compression test:
1. get a compression tester. (I rented one at a local auto zone)
2. diconnect fuel pump. (pull fuse refer to list on fuse box)
3. pull wires (leave connected to distributor)
4. pull spark plugs
6. Lightly thread compression tester as far as you can all by hand.
7.make sure to read all instructions on compression tester. Mine I had to tighten a screw on top so it would read
8. turn over engine for 10+ seconds and go check the compression tester gauge. WRITE IT DOWN WITH CYLINDER NUMBER
Repeat for all cylinders
Mine read very low around 60psi so I decided to do leak down test
1. the only extra thing you have to do for leak down is pour oil ( about a 1/4 cup) down the spark plug holes and run the compression test again
If HIGHER than last psi reading rings are bad
If SAME not sure didn't have to research it mine was higher
