Help!!! What would cause this???
So I have a 1998 S70 T5M with about 150k on it it's a good car almost all highway miles and I keep the car in great condition... Well last night I was driving home and decided to puch the throttle for a bit and went from about 65 to 90 in no time.... well right when the car hit 90 my check engine light started flashing and for some reason the car felt like it lost a significant amount of power.... well after taking my foot off the throttle the CEL stopped flashing and stayed solid and I thought it was just some simple code... well then i put my foot on the throttle just to keep the car at normal speed and the car got real jittery and the light started to flash again... I know this doesn't sound good... can anyone help???

Maybe you knocked loose a vacuum hose or turbo IC hose, or worse yet, blew a hole in one or the other. Is it still doing this today?

No... I checked all the hoses around the turbo and all the fluids... could it possibly be the clutch??? when the clutch is engaged it seems like it starts to slip, but when the car goes over 2000 revs the light begins to flash again

Get your codes read. Then tell us what they say. Don't know what else to tell you at this point.

ha!!! well today i decided that i was going to find what was wrong with my car and pulled the spark plugs and to my surprise cylinders 1 and 5 had both cracked... i mean the whole porcelin and metal tip was pretty much gone... i guess the shaking came form the car running on 3 cylinders.... well now i know to never buy champion spark plugs again!! Which brings me to my next question.... i hear that copper plugs are good for a turbo car and to stay away from platinum but coppers apparently don't work to well and burn up... what should i do for plugs??

This is not the first time I've heard of such a thing happening w/ Champion plugs
.
Go for some Bosch or NGK coppers.
You can also get the Volvo plugs if you don't mind paying close to $50 for a set

ok well today I went and put in some new spark plugs, some NGK coppers, and I'm still back at square one... after putting in the new plugs and starting the car it still has the same problems where the car is shaky when hitting the throttle and the check engine light starts to flash again... what would be causing this???

I'm hoping you didn't damage the cylinders where the spark plugs chipped...I've read about the plats doing that and parts falling into the engine and causing real damage. Get a compression test done on those cylinders. If that's not the problem, do a continuity test on the wires and consider a bad rotor too. Last of all, check out the fuel injectors...could have burned up or be damaged causing what occured in the 2 cylinders....but very very strange that this would happen to 2 at the same time. In other words, there may be another reason that these plugs went kaput....bad wiring, rotors or fuel injectors.
Btw, have you or anyone had the fuel rail off recently, like to take the intake manifold loose? If so, the injectors have to come out when you do this and they may have not been seated properly afterwards....just a thought.

well the plugs i had in there before were champion coppers... which i will never buy again... but i didn't touch the engine in awhile... so i know something had to crap out on me... but i finally gave in and took the car to my shop today so we'll see what's wrong...
