Hi,
I have a 98' V70 turbo. My radiator has a slow leak in it. I had planned on changing it tommorow. I already have the radiator (Nissens) that I bought online. However, I purchased the o-rings/clamps/oil seal that go to the radiater a week ago from FCPgroton and they just sent them off yesterday. So I won't be seeing those anytime soon. I really need to replace the radiator before thanksgiving. My question is- can I possibly reuse the o-rings and the other hardware that goes from the AT and oil cooler lines to the radiator? If not, are there any suggestions on what size o-rings I need and where they can be purchased (besides the dealer- I refuse to pay $7 for an o-ring).
AT/Oil cooler to Radiator oil rings.

I you can extract an old one intact , or at least not in too many pieces, you can just take it to any auto parts store and they will match it up for you. The auto parts stores all have organizer boxes filled with them and they are usually well under $1.00 each.
I have an FCP kit on my desk with the O rings in it but I really don't have anything to accurately measure it with. When my kids get home I can see if they have a metric ruler and I will try to measure the O ring for you.

Yes, you can get away with garden variety o-rings. In the east a True value hardware store and I'm sure Ace have good o-ring selections. Bring in your o-ring and match it to same size or a hair beefier. Buy a couple different ones that are close and see which you're happier with. They are like 30 cents/ea. or something.
The important issue is understanding the way that the clips work. They only work one way so that you can push the line in and it will lock like a barb. Nevertheless, secure the clips with worm clamps or zip ties. When these let go you lose all your oil fast. Pre-squash the clip to give it back some of its tension as it gets bent undoing it for disassembly.

I can't see what you see. If they are all rusted out I would be inclined to wait on mail order parts to replace the actual clamps themselves. In any case reinforcing them with either zip ties or small hose clamps certainly can't hurt anything.
Mine have ranged from not at all bad to just horrible but it all depends on where the car lived most of its life. The car from Chicago is by far the worst - they must dump battery acid on the streets after a snowstorm. The Kansas City cars have their share of rot as well. The KC cars I will put in the not at all bad category and I have re-used the clamps with reinforcement when working in that area.
I can't really comment on the '94 that I picked up in Indianapolis - it is a NA with a stick so there are no oil coolers on it at all to mess with.

I measured O rings some time ago for another poster. Here is what I posted then. As suggested, I would take an old one in and try to match it. This may provide a starting point for you.jphelps wrote: If not, are there any suggestions on what size o-rings I need and where they can be purchased (besides the dealer- I refuse to pay $7 for an o-ring).

I had two left over and measured them. I'm assuming they are the same for the radiator end and cooler end - not sure which these are but I think the cooler end. Looks like 16 mm OD and about 2.5 mm thickness.
