Re: 94 volvo 850 turbo stolen!
so i got the car back.. the fool got scared and offered 300 for me to get it out i said i only got 250 he jumped on it fast. cause he new he was in the wrong. and believe me i am still contesting the tow. so it may take a while but i will get that 250 back. they are scammers and there not getting away with it. but anyways the thief only drove it 10 mins down the road and it sat from the 28th till the 7th when it got towed and sat in the tow yard till today he wanted me to pay 550 or 620 to get it towed sense my insurance lapsed and then he switched it up and took 250 and let me drive it away. and the town it was towed in (Bristol, CT) they towed it 30 mins away to another town Hartford. by lifting the wheels. does this mess up the car? what do they lift the front up and it rolls on the back? cause wouldn't it mess up the front of they lifted it from the back? plz no 1 ever use cross country automotive they are scammers and don't loose your keys if u live in a bad neighborhood and don't have all your stereo system sticking out your window of your wagon!! my next sub is going were the spare goes forgot this!

Ain't that some shyt, your car gets stolen and you gotta pay a tow fee to get it back. I'd be fuming, but you got your ride back. I know your gonna be wearing those keys around your neck for safe keeping from now on.

A kill switch will work. I have a kill switch on my '99 Lude, along with active alarm.

Man, that is a mess. Did you get your house re-keyed? Sounds like he really didn't want the car, just a ride. Was the car trashed? Was the stereo taken? Does he also have a remote?
If it were me, I would go to a salvage yard and get a couple of door handles from another car with a key and just use 2 keys, one for the door and the other for the ignition. He will think you got the ignition rekeyed as well. I don't know hard it is to change the key end of the ignition but it's not hard to get a remote box and swap that out and reprogram a couple of remotes if you want to do that.
Good that you got the car back and that the tow place worked a deal with you. I wouldn't trip about the $250, only about the fact that they tried to keep it. The crazy thing is that the plate should not have been an issue at all. Usually plates are stolen and swapped on stolen cars almost immediately. The entire stolen car/impound system should be on the car VIN. Very few people try to change a vin.

rspi they drove it 2 miles down the road stole the amp and sub woofer and left it there. It sat there for like a week then got towed to a tow place like 30 mins from were it was(bs). And the house is re-keyed, but there is still a key fob and key missing which this girl said was thrown on a street cause she new everything else were it was and that it got towed. so i dunno and the kid is not a kid hes like 25. anyways he drove the car to his ex-girls house and she told the cop that he did have the car, and the cop said he was working on a warrant, and then called a few days later saying listen she wont make a statement blah blah blah. And haven't heard from the cop sense. but i dunno if my keys were thrown. anyways i need advice on to what components, relays to install the kill switch to? i no fuel pump and ignition but were do i directly wire it to? anyways there was nothing wrong with the car. i just did the whole pcv, new inter cooler silicone hoses, new turbo hose, new torque rod engine mount. it runs like a beast now!! i just need this kill switch asap!

hanzbe420, please use proper English. That means starting sentences with Capital letters, using "one" instead of "1", ending sentences with periods, etc. This requirement is in the forum rules which you were required to read and abide by when you registered for an account at MVS.

Paragraphs will also help get your message across.
I'd hit a J/Y and get a new set of locks, myself. But-
Pull your wiring diagrams and choose a circuit to interupt.

I'm not going to suggest anything, because then it would
be on the net and wouldn't that kinda blow your secret?
And you might consider looking for this bumper sticker:
"This car guarded by Smith & Wesson 3 nights a week. You guess which 3..."
Glad to hear you got your car back! That's mighty rare.
