This is a 2001 s40 t that has a loud air/or fan sound that comes when you accelerate....My code reader isnt 'linking' correctly ,so I cant read the code...Engine light on....Runs but loud air sound, and seems like it wants to stall at times....What am I dealing with?????

One of your air lines popped off. I had the same problem after replacing the engine in my S40 and I forgot to tighten the hose clamp on the air line on the bottom of the intercooler, making my car a normally aspirated car with no air filter (eeek!) My car would stall at times because the compressed air from the turbo was being measured by the MAF and then blown out the bottom of the intercooler. The air going into the intake manifold was atmospheric pressure and so the air / fuel ratio was all wrong. I forget what code I got, probably the O2 sensor bank 0 was reading too rich. Use a mechanic's stethoscope to look around.
