Relay on Battery Charge

Hi I have a 2005 S40 I am having problems with my Battery not keeping its charge. My alteranator is fine. Im thinking it could be a relay. Are Relays universal. Do I need to buy a special volvo Relay or just buy one from a automotive store. How much would this be to fix.

How old is the battery? How do you know the alternator is fine?

I had an alternator test done its not the Alternator. I bought the Battery in Feb 11. I took it to my Mechanic today. He is going to run test on it

Bad Wiring. The mechanic said that it happens there is nothing I could of done to prevent it.
