"noise" when the compressor kicks in...

Hi,

this is my first post (and not a very eloquent one I am afraid).

I have a Volvo V70, 2.0T, aut., 2002-model. I am very pleased with the car, but there are a few things that irritate me. I am not sure how to describe the problem, but sometimes when the compressor kicks in there is an additional noise (a sort of "scratchy" sound - I lack the vocabulary to describe this noise). It is not a problem during winter time (I live in Norway), so I assume that it must somehow be related to something that cool something down... Does this ring a bell for you..? I have had my local dealer check the diagnostic system, but they cannot find anything.

(I feel like an idiot trying to explain this - and I should probably just drive to my local dealer to have them look at it - the problem is that it is a problem that comes and goes.... and usually goes when my car is in for service).

All jokes aside, it sounds like the compressor's clutch bearing that's going out. Looks like you may need a new compressor soon.
