Car level for tranny flush?

Post by writer100 »

I am going to be flushing my transmission and need to get under the car. Can I use ramps under the front wheels, or is it a better idea to have the car level?

Any other tips?

Thanks.

If you are flushing with the car running, it will not matter since the pump will force the fluid out. If you are doing the drain and fill method, depending on where your drain plug is, you may want to jack it up, put the pan under, pull the plug and then lower the car to get as much out as possible. This way you will not have to do as many drains to the get most of the fluid out.

Thanks. Yeah, I was planning to drain the pan first, put the plug in, then run the engine to flush the rest. Using the ramps will help me to get under the car, so that would be my preference.
