Hi,
I have a S40, year 2000. I had a problem when the blower motor of the fan stopped working and LEDs for the A/C and internal circulation button used to blink for first 20 seconds after the car started. I tool the car to a dealer and he told me that blower motor and the resistor to control speed is not working and needs to be changed and gave an estimate of around $800 for parts and labor. Then I took the car to another mechanic and he showed me the blower motor was working and it was problem with the resistor which is much cheaper than blower motor. Also, the mechanic could not figure out if there was a problem with the automatic climate control unit. The automatic climate control unit is very expensive and I was curious to know if there is any way to fix the circuit inside it rather than buying a new one. This car has been having a lot of issues since I bought it two years ago and as we all know its very expensive to fix a Volvo.
Any advice on this will be very helpful. Also, let me know if you need any more information on the problem.
Thanks.
