Hello. I'm a new volvo owner( 48hrs new), and I have a question about the codes I pulled from my car.
Car is a 1994 base, NA 855. PO only drove about 20miles/day
- Codes pulled on 1/6/12 after 5mile test drive:
A3:212
A7:122 and 231
B2:122
- Codes pulled after 75miles at freeway speeds between 65-75mph( didn't clear codes from previous code pull)
A3: 212 213 214 144
A6: 154
A7:122 231
B2: 122
I'm not really understanding what the wheel speed sensor errors mean. Or the 144( brakes overheated) error. I hear a roar from the LF that I assumed was tires( older michelins approx 2-3/32s above ear bar ) b/c I didn't get any tire movement when I checked the wheel bearings b/4 I bought the car. Maybe sticking caliper?
Any ideas?

Wheel speed sensor errors: The ABS system determines the speed of both front wheels to make judgements on whether or not one wheel is slipping.
Jack up the car, remove your front tires, and look behind the brake rotor to see the sensor. I take a toothbrush and carb cleaner/simple green/whatever solvent of your choice and scrub down both the sensor and the gear ring on the axle that it connects to real well to get rid of any gunk in the way. Check out the wiring - is it intact?
A6 - 154 - EGR flow too low.

A7: 122 - Temp sensor interval too long.
You need a new temperature sensor (and thermostat!)

Not sure what 2-3-1 means.
The cruise control is annoyed at the ABS module (speed sensors) as well.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna try and check the sensors this weekend. Still trying to decide what to do about the egr. My first thought was to buy a JY valve and sensor, and pre-soak them in carb cleaner or something for a few days so that when I get a chance to install them it'll be quick and relatively painless.
Thermostat should be easy peasey , just need to figure out how to change the sensor.
Checked the mileage during lunch. Its 178k if I did it right. I was hoping it would be less, but its still ok. I cleaned the maf during lunch yesterday and I can tell a difference already. I didn't reset the computer 'cause I didn't have the code but I think I found it today so I'll try it this weekend.
Also, now that this tank is almost enpty I'll add some seafoam or techtron to the next tank.
Thanks again!!
