Flashing Orange Arrow Light

I own a 96 850-T. Yesterday, for the second time, my Flashing Orange Arrow light came on. Both times that it has come on, its gone off about 45 minutes later....

Whats going on, Could it lead to a problem?

Transmission seems to be doing fine which leads me to think its a faulty switch somewhere.

Hard to say what the problem might be w/o a code. Autozone will read OBD-II codes for free. That should help you narrow down the cause.

Either your PNIP switch is failing (trans position sensor) or your ignition switch is going bad. (common)

My orange arrow (the one that comes on when you put the car in 3, 2 or 1, not D) has come on a couple of times. It does NOT flash but just stays on. When I stop, turn off the key and restart it, it goes off. I have 2000 XC V70 with 135,000 miles; I just had the transmission flushed and checked. Any suggestions as to what this might be??
