Hose Collapse on Acceleration - See Video

Post by ronzara »

I know this should not be happening. What would cause this?
I believe this may be some of my low rpm throttle problems.
Thanks everyone.

A cheap hose is what's causing that (that one ain't OEM), and yes, that's what's causing your car to run terrible at low RPM.

Replace it with either a silicone or OEM hose. And check for any others doing the same thing too.

Also get that vacuum tree replaced. I think there is a line that is suppose to be connected there as well.

I have just read somewhere that I should have a Vacuum line running from The "TREE" to one of the nipples  on the Boost Solenoid.... I think THIS COULD BE part of my problem.

All the ones on my car are capped off except for the one that's missing. I don't see any and vacuum lines off anywhere. Maybe the one that IS attached to the boost solenoid is tucked under or behind something, and I've missed it somehow.

On another note:
I have noticed a "clicking" sound coming from a small vacuum sensor under the air intake tube.... Drivers side, behind the back of the radiator under the air intake tube.... this part has a vacuum line going in the top and out the bottom... with a small wire connector plugged into it.
It was sounding like a valve tapping,... and I pinpointed the sound coming from this part.
Is it Defective, or is this normal?
I pulled the lines off each end and sprayed in it with crc electrical cleaner, didnt seem to change anything.
???
On a side note, I installed new ACCEL plug wires, the car ran worse. 2 wires were bad right out of the box... had to take em back to Advance Auto. I DID notice, however that the car ran a little better with the new coil wire and old plug wires.

Is it possible a Bad or Failing Coil could be causing the car to run poorly ?
We tried starting the car with the coil wire on and then off (but held very close to the coil), the car fired quicker with the wire ALMOST on the coil
