Re: vacuum line questions
If that's the case, your main PCV lines may well be shot and sucking air/leaking oil too.

It's amazing this car was running at all - even as poorly as it was....
90% of the vaccuum lines looked decent, until you moved them, and then they would just crumble. The Hard tube (on the Sheath with the larger one - PVC/Oil Trap???) ..that runs under the manifold was so brittle it will snap in 1 inch pieces if you move it.
I have a pretty good grasp on the routing and changed a lot of stuff today. I don't hear any hissing or see any oil from the trap. I didnt want t have to remove the Manifold (if at all possible).
I do hear s whistling, but its coming from where the nipple is broken off the throttle body vac tree,... new one all ready ordered.

OK. I bit the bullet and Pulled the Manifold. I was amazed to find ALL the lines on the PCV/OILTRAP were in GREAT shape. I was also surprised how easy it was to to pull the intake,... was off in 20 minutes. I was able to reach everything from up top.
Toughest bolt was dip stick...
Any way... the inside of the manifold was NASTY,... black and sticky... Ive used 2 cans of Valvoline throttle body cleaner and it's still bad. Also the ports going to the valves were almost as bad, sprayed them out as well.
I have found there are actually 4 vacuum ports on the front of the manifold (I thought there were 2) ?????? - thats all I've seen on Vacuum diagrams!!
and 1 on the passengers side(knew about that one)... anyway... I guess I'll put it all back together now, (after some more clening...... since I didnt see anything Bad.

Nonetheless, even if the lines LOOK fine, all that crud in the manifold is a result of a plugged up PCV system letting the intake manifold suck in oil from the turbo/intercooler lines.
I'd guess either:
A) PTC port at the turbo intake hose is clogged up
B) Ports on the oil pan are clogged
C) The hoses are clogged internally
D) That small vacuum hose that connects from the left side of the intake to the PTC isn't pulling a vacuum AT ALL - broken somewhere along the way.

Ok. Thanks.
I have come to the conclusion there could be 3 things causing my cars hesitation.
1). Weak or failing fuel pump
2). Bad regulator at pump
3). Turbo Boost Solenoid (I disconnected The wires from it and there was absolutely no change in the crappy performance.
What are the symptoms of a bad TBS?
