Ipd Flashed Ecu For 850 T5 Work With 98 V70 Glt?

Hi, I was wondering if an IPD flashed ECU for a 94-97 850 T5 would be compatible with a 98 V70 GLT. IPD bundles them together on their website for the reflash but I see that ARD lists them separately. I've also read that 94-97 ECUs are not compatible with 98s due to missing pins (???). I ask because I'm looking to purchase an IPD tuned ECU for an 850 to use on my 98 V70 GLT.

Only if it is for a motronic 4.4 system. 850s with an SAS air pump (96-97 models) used this system.

94-97 850 turbo's were all M4.3. The first turbo'd 4.4 was the 97 850 GLT. The ECM you have will set codes when in the 98.

Depends on the emissions system. Some 1996's and 1997's did use the M4.4 system.

I mistakenly used a turbo ECU in my NA 97 850 GLT and it ran really rich.
I chased vacuum leaks, changed plugs, replaced fuel injectors and fuel regulators and oxygen and MAF and ECT sensors, I was getting about 10 miles per gallon and puffing loads of black smoke, finally found an ECU from the right motor and all the problems went away instantly.
