Thanks a lot. I wouldn't have expected so much sludge after just a few months, but the car does have 200k on it and I don't know when or if the trans was ever flushed.

Is the milky stuff separated in the bottom of the jar definitely water? I put in a new radiator about 6 months ago so I'd be surprised if the trans cooler lines were getting coolant in them but it was an aftermarket radiator. I'm assuming that's the only place water can come from.

Thanks for your help.

I took the splash guards underneath off. Is it possible water is splashing up into the housing where the plastic grate is?

Can I flush the transmission myself using the various methods described here and get enough of the water out to possibly save the transmission, or do I need to have it professionally flushed? Or is it for sure ruined at this point?

New radiator. New transmission filter. Coolant flush. Transmission flush. Seems to be running ok for now. I wonder if all this would have happened if I had bought a radiator from the dealer in the first place rather than an aftermarket....

So the car ran fine for a few hundred miles. Filter plugged up again. Cleaned the filter. Another few hundred miles plugged again. Looks like the material plugging up the filter may be clutch pieces? Now I'm looking for a used AW70L transmission or someone to rebuild this one.
