The original was 250 so the one I bought is 80% of the original.
Fazool,

you are mistaken, the original battery is 720 mAh not 250.

The original battery has 3 cells, each 240 mAH, thus 3x240=720mAh

The cells themselves were spec-ed at 240mAh and 2.4v

By combining battery cells you can have either more power or more capacity. You can't get both.

If three run in parallel, they would provide three times the run-time (capacity) at the same power (voltage).
Three cells in parallel would stay at 2.4v but give 720mAh capacity.

If three run in series, they would provide three times the power (voltage) at the same run time (capacity)
Three cells in series will give 7.2v but stay at 240mAh capacity.

(edited to correct typo from 250 to 240)

Kunckleheads at import shop!

I called around and one shop I spoke to said he has the Volvo Vida/Dice computer and can clear SRS alarms.

Of course I drove the car the dropped it off had my wife drive there pick me up, leave the car all day and at the end of the next day he calls to tell me "this is strange. My Snap-On scanner can't clear your airbag code".

What

OK, got my car back. Local dealership had me in and out in 30 minutes. $110 for a VIDA scan & clear. There were a whole bunch of communication codes stored. Everything cleared, SRS light is gone and everything works perfectly again.

(Last time I'm paying for a scan! I'm going to buy a VIDA/DICE now when I am not in a time crunch and dont need an answer quickly).

Waiting for new NiMH battery to arrive. So far so good.

Hey fazool,
Don't forget Rule Number Three: "Never take your car to that Stupid Car Wash place again!"
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.
Disclaimer: We (very) seldom do that

Everything continues to work perfectly - no alarm triggering so far. I know the battery cells are old and WILL need replacing and I already have a brand new replacement in hand. I am waiting until it acts up again before I tear it open again.

When I do that I will take pictures and detail the aftermarket battery replacement. ($400 if the dealer replaces your siren. $200 if you replace your own siren with new. $65 if you replace your siren with used. $10 if you replace your battery).
