Removal of C70 front seat headrests

Post by FSchertenl »

:? Does anyone know how to removal the headrests from the front seats of a Volvo C70 convertible?
I recently purchased a set of front sheepskin seatcovers and there are grommeted holes at the top of the seat back for the posts of the headrest to fit into to keep the covers in place.
I contacted the seat cover mfg and they indicated to me that there are "buttons" on each side of the headrest that can be felt in each seat back that when pushed will allow you to remove the front headrests.
I have not been able to feel any buttons and am wondering if anyone on Matthew's site has had experience with this and can provide me with any guidance or direction.
Much thanks to all, Fred.[/b]

The C70 has WHIPS (Whiplash Protection System) in the front seats that helps reduce whiplash injuries by moving the seat with the occupant to absorb the forces during the impact. I understand that part of this mechanism is incorporated in the front seat headrests and therefore I would personally not interfere with this, best left to someone with knowledge of the whips setup.
