vacuum leak- 81-245

Post by arete »

Is there any other possibility, other than a hose, for a vacuum leak to occur. It idles @ about 35mph. I have checked all hoses and can detect no leak. I am thinking maybe a gasket or diaphram somewhere that has a hole in it- any suggestions. Car runs fine over 40mph but is a problem in stop & go traffic. Hard on brakes. Car does tend to heat up faster.

When I disconnected the low-idle unit, (the one that looks like it might be the ER valve) it runs fine. So now I am focusing on an electrical problem somewhere-tracing out possible grounding issues.
