Thanks again. My sincere hope in this purchase (if I decide to do it) is to get a fairly decent vehicle that I can get about a year of service out of to ease the pressure off my other two vehicles (both my wife and I commute ~ 100-150 mi/day each). Want to use this as a weekend car and travel car for area business needs (most of which takes place on the weekend). BTW, great forum!!!

Have you asked the seller if the transmission has been replaced/rebuilt? at 250k, i have to imagine its on its 3rd or 4th transmission. Also, have you asked him when the timing belt was last changed? It was due for its second replacement at 210k. If it wasn't done and there is a failure of some sort, It would be very costly.

UPDATE!!! Seller not mechanically saavy....this is actually the 2.5T. (Felt better about this fact after reading this forum....THANKS!) No reported transmission problems over the life of the car. I have all the maintenance/service reecords. Got the radio fixed but still have to replace the YAW sensor. Still have to find the water intrusion....checking drains and windshield cowl. Thanks for all the help. PS It is amazing the drive this car still has after 250k miles.

I'm confused. I thought there was water in the doors, a water-caused ABS failure, a water caused Audio failure, a Traction Control failure and a Yaw Sensor failure. With all that I was suspecting flood damage.

Did everything turn out to be OK after all?
