Everyone will tell you different things one way to check is take out the obd2 plug and see how many wires are going to it. If it only has like 3 or 4 wires and it has the diagnostic sockets under the hood im pretty sure its obd1 and 2 but not obd2 compliant if you now wat i mean. On mine the obd2 plug will only give me a few codes even though my car is throwing alot more

My car has the obd 2 plug on the center console, I've been hearing conflicting statements about a king obd 1 obd 2, I was just thinking my car might be weird, but if all turbo models are obd 2 that explains it. thanks guys.

my 94 850 turbo has obd II also, in front of the shifter under the "coin holder" i plugged it into my dad's snap on MODIS and it gave me codes, went into engine data and the data was about 7-10 seonds lagged, ( rev it to 2000RPMs and the data wouldnt show 2000 for 7-10 seconds)

OBD-I system in the Volvo's ended in '95. That system was more detailed than the OBD-II port has ever been. I don't think the post '95 OBD-II system is any better than the pre '96 OBD-II system. It's very nice to have both system is many 850's. I almost didn't purchase the '95 T-5R's that I have had/have because I wanted a OBD-II car, I was relieved to leard that they had both.
