Hello,
With your help, I like to install a Parrot audio system in a 2000 S80. But first, I wonder whether replacing the audio system is a tasks that a fairly handy person but limited mechanical abilities can undertake. Second, I wonder about the steps I would need to follow to properly remove and install the audio system in my car. I am happy to gather the comments and suggestions and to share these with the discussion board. I thank you for your help.

Well, several questions first:
Which Volvo sound system is in your 2000 S80 ? What head unit model do you have?
If you are installing a Parrot system, why replace the whole system? If replacing the system, then why ask about installing a Parrot system in your current Volvo system.
What *exactly* are you working to achieve? If you are replacing the stereo AND adding a Parrot system or just adding Parrot it is very different.

Hello Fazool,
Thank you for replying to my note and for your questions. My car has the Volvo original stereo system (wires and speakers) with a Pioneer DEH-1100MP receiver. I like to leave the currently installed Volvo stereo system and replace the Pioneer with a Parrot receiver. I appreciate the clarification questions and look forward to hearing back from you.

Ahhh OK, so you don't have a stock Volvo stereo system - that's what confused me. You have an aftermarket head unit and want to replace THAT with a Parrot head unit. I understand, now.
Well, since the aftermarket is already patched in to the Volvo stock OEM wiring harnesses etc then a replacement aftermarket should plug right in. But I took a quick look at the Parrot systems and they have different audio connectors. If you are already running an aftermarket system there isn't a lot of Volvo specific info to worry about. The Volvo specific stuff is all in the stock head unit and you've already had that replaced.
