I've read a lot of posts and links concerinig starting troubles; fuel pmps, relays, filters
my car has been tested for a bad pump relay, relay is fine, the fuel pumps are fine too, I have spark, and enough gas in the tank.
Turn the ignition half way, the relay clicks but the pump does not energize, the fuses are fine.
I even connecting a lead positive wire from the battery to both pumps so that they run and tried staring the car that way, and still the car does not run.
please I need some help
Another starting problem 1990 740 gle 16v

I would suggest that you revisit the relay again. There are two relays inside the unit...one for pumps and the other I believe powers up the Fuel Injection systems. Who and how did you test the relay? Did you take it out and look at the circuit board for cracked or bad joints? Did you try a new relay? Did you do a by pass test at the relay?
By your description you are not getting fuel but your pumps are working...are both pumps working...the one in the gas tank and the one under the drivers seat area? The relay should have two clicks..one upon half turn of the key and the other upon full turn. You need to completely illiminate the relay before moving on to the real expensive sutff such as fuel injection modules as it is possible the pump side is ok but the FI side is bad and/or the FI module is bad. The test you did from the battery I believe would start the pumps but bypass the FI system thereby not giving you the complete picture.
Suggest that you also visit Swedishbrick.com as they have good stuff on the relay, relay test and FI system including links to FI wiring diagrams for your particular car.
Good luck

Since you have illiminated obvious items such as pumps, relay, spark etc then it sounds like Fuel Injection problem....you have already saved alot of expensive shop time.
You could spend the time tracking through the wiring diagram and individual parts through the FI system down to the injectors...but your time may be better spent towing it to a Volvo shop or some other reliable repair shop for a FI diagnostic test to try and pinpoint the problem. From there you may decide to do the work yourself or get the shop to fix. It may be a real simple solution to a not so obvious item. Can't help you any further as the obvious has been checked off.
Good luck and let us know the outcome.
