How to install a battery?

Post by iamjason »

Hi,

This may sound like something obvious but I haven't been able to find the relevant information anywhere and don't have any experience doing this.

What is the correct procedure for replacing a battery in a 98 S70? Does it matter what order to plug the clamps in? Are there any safety precautions or handling methods for installing a fully charged battery?

Thanks!
Jason

Disconnect the negative clamp and then the positive...lift out.

Lift in the new...connect the positive clamp first and then the negative.

That's what I've always done, but don't really think it matters as long as you don't touch the postive and negative together or cause a grounding through the wrench you're using...thus the order I suggested above.

Reset radio code and time on your dash....very simple.

Almost 100% correct.

First locate your radio code, then proceed as above.

I thought this post was a trap
