Hi, new to the forum and am based in Australia. I am looking at purchasing a 2006 XC90 T6 Lifestyle Edition (LE) that has 85,000km on the clock. It is registered as a 2006 model and was first sold in March 2006. My question is, would this car have the potentially faulty GM transmission or would it have the amended version. Is there a way I can tell? Should I avoid this car?
Would appreciate any comments. Thanks.
Does my 2006 XC90 T6 have the faulty GM tranny?

It has the GM gearbox.
A dealer should be able to view the warranty history to see if it has been exchanged and when. An exchange in the last two years is a much better gearbox but how much better is the unanswered question at this point.

Our 2.5T has been rock solid (knock on wood) and has plenty of power. When we were looking at XC90's I avoided the T6 like the plague. Do they have the diesel version in your neck of the woods?CharlieD wrote:Thanks jimmy57. Think I will avoid it altogether.
