Will a tow bar from '77 245 wagon fit a '83 245 wagon?

Hi there, I'm new here. I'm wondering if a factory tow bar (rear, bolts to frame) from '77 245 wagon fit a '83 234 wagon? Did the frame/rear end change from 77 to 83?

It most likely will fit.

This US site gives specs for Volvo 240 and advises how to check which of 2 different towbars is needed.

Oops, I guess I mean REAR towbar--i.e. something that attaches to the rear of my volvo and lets me tow something.. Do you know if that would work?

Sorry but it's my Oops. Obviously the trans-Atlantic interpreter was away today. In the UK the bit that fits onto the rear of a vehicle is called a towbar as we do not go in much for towing cars behind RVs and the like. We usually tow caravans and trailers which are fitted with a tow hitch to attach to the towball on the towbar. Gets really complicated!
