rec and AC light flashing. HELP!

Hi, I've got a v40 99 model, 1,9 diesel. Recently my ac unit vent dead, it flashes rec and ac light constantly. When i push in rear window heater the flashing stops. I have tested the fan and it works. There is very little airflow from the vents and there are no reaction if i adjust the fan knob 0-5. Rear window heater have been dead for a while. I have changed the ecc with a used one and it got the same problem. Please give me your ideas on solutions

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

The flashing lights are indicating there is a fault in the system. Unfortunately, fault codes can only be read using diagnostic equipment. In the UK most auto-electricians now have the necessary equipment to do this work. If the same applies in Norway I would suggest you visit one. Failing that, I am sorry to say, it means a trip to a Volvo dealer.

hi and thx, I have been at the volvo dealer to an diagnostic test. They could not read any codes, and they said the Ecc was faulty. Since I have changed it and I still got the same error I am open for other solutions. relays og anything...

PROBLEM SOLVED

I studied the wiering diagram and changed the relay in the passenger compartment for the heating system and, voila! my A/C is back and workes like a charm. Angry at the volvo dealer who told me it was the ECC modul and told me to pay up 1300 dollar for the repair.
