S70 Dolby retro install

Post by OvlovS70 »

Hello, I am trying to retro fit the dolby pro logic setup into my S70
I thought I had all i needed but the cable running from the centre dash speaker
doesn't have the green end jack to plug into the headunit,
the connection is the same as the speaker end.
What am i still needing to make this work? And
any leads (what a pun) on where i can source
what i need?
I believe the parts came from a C70 coupe. I have processor, amp, HU and everything else
Many thanks, D

I'd like to know more on this too. I have the pro-logic system in the S80 and like it quite a bit.

Your best bet will be a donor car. Look for blue and white wires.

Bottom pin (5) is +.
It's the same cable in all the '98-'00 sedans and wagons with Dolby. Here's the P/N:

The C70's also have a compatible cable from '98 through 2004.
The C's may also have extra leads at the green connector for other features.
Those won't matter if you just need to connect the center speaker.

Hello,
Thanks for your input. I have taken pictures of the centre speaker cabling I have that, for some reason, does not have the green connector but instead has a black one that is a different shape from the green input on the rear of the headunit - it is as if this needs to plug into something and then onward - no idea what.
I am unable to upload my photos as they have no URL, they are simply on my hard drive but I can share via email if anyone is interested.
I am quite far into this project and happy to offer my help.
Thanks.

Hello,
Thanks to all who helped.
I tired to upload pics directly but couldn't.
A two part cable for the centre speaker does indeed work,
It has a black connector with a red sleeve coming from the dash speaker this then meets another cable with the green connector for the headunit.
I then discovered i had a blown centre speaker.
Anyway i am now in the car listening to some ELO through my fully functioning dolby nine speaker SC900 set up!
All i need now is to source a RHD oak dolby dash, the one i bought is beige so i have a two tone set up!
I have just ordered the aerial down switch - my current project.
The dolby set up is well worth the work!
Thanks
