Are they the same exact seats? Are there any other years that will swap in a 1996?

You can do 95 - 97 and the 98 S70/V70. 99's will look the same but will have side airbags that re electronic and your car used non-electronic pyrotechnic airbags in seats.
You will find a percentage of 95's without side impact bags in seats as it was optional that year.

I had swapped '96 seats (which have the side impact bag ) into my '93 850. I don't see a problem with going as far back as '93. It will bolt right in but it may not have the side impact bag built in. It will not trigger any SRS code as it is not electronicaly monitored by the system. Electronic controls and heater connections are the same. So if you don't mind the lack of airbag in the seat and it looks better than what you are replacing, why not?
