Rotors

Post by TipTopTommyT »

Folks - - looking for moderately priced but reliable rotors. Checked IPD....in their "Standard" replacement rotors category....that first row are front rotors (which is what I need). I see a huge price drop for the Meyle....should I stay away from those? The other choice is Zimmerman.

Other general retailers off "Wherever" and "Wagner" and others.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

You can use TRW(Lucas) or Delphi rotors, for example. Both of them are excellent...

Currently...i use Delphi rotors on the front and i like them.

You can chose between Zimmerman,Bosch(not sure about U.S market, but we have them in EU),Trw,Delphi,Ferodo.....etc.

Whatever you choose, you will not go wrong.

My car purchased in Jan this year came with Cross Drilled Units Front and Rear and looks like the Zimmerman W0133-1613083 &W0133-1904328. Don't give much thoughts to the brakes as they never gave any indications of weakness or not up to the task although I have changed the rear pads due to noise and wear.

The O'Reilly Organic Rear Pads less than $15.00 ($26.00 for your XC) were exceptionally smooth. Noticed the difference after installation.

Have used IPD but also had purchased years ago 4 Rotors, Pads and Sensors from Autohausaz for a 95 Mercedes E420 and was very pleased with Service and Pricing.

I used the ATE rotors from FCP. So far they're performing very well. Using them with ATE pads as well. Check them out! I believe the whole set cost me $300 in parts, for both front and rear rotors and pads.

Don't forget there's a group buy going on so you'll be able to save even more!

Zimmerman for the win!!!

This is one thing to avoid OEM on. They warp too easily.

I agree, Zimmermans are excellent. I have also good experience with Brembo's.
