Drivers door module

Hi,
Ive replaced this part because my windows have stopped working,I have now heard they have to be reprogrammed by Volvo for them to work. Anyone know if its true?

It should be plug n play if the part number is the same.
What was wrong with windows? None of them worked with any switch at any location?

Hi Jimmy,
No all dead.Lost electric windows,mirrors,outside temp and its saying my 'drivers door open' on the dash. Fuse 27 was blown which I changed which did nothing so i bought a secondhand door mod and still nothing.
