Also, my front left speaker seems to work intermittantly - it will sometimes pop on if I go over a bump, but most of the time it's dead. Is there any way I can get in there and try to fix that? If so, what would I look for? Thanks.

service light/speaker
Hi, I have a '91 740, and I just had the oil changed, but the service light was never reset. If anyone can tell me how to do that, that would be great.

The service light is reset by a plastic lever on the back of the speedo. It is hard for me to reach, i have big hands. Push in. I had the same thing with my door speaker. On my you just pull off the cover then remove the 4 screws. One of the wires was disconnected. If your wires are connected you might check the rubber bellows where the wires pass into the body down by the door hinge. A wire may have broken there. Sometimes the speakers rot. This will be obvious when you look at it.
