I Bought a '98 V70R!

Post by BigRed »

I picked it up Wednesday & have been putting off posting until I had taken some pictures. Well, it's the end of the weekend & I still have not...so posting anyway.

It's silver on black with tinted windows, looks great! It rolled over 158K on drive home and runs incredibly well. It has a dictionary thickness of service records, quite possibly everything since it was new. It was rigorously maintained and kept cleaned. There's so many records for detailing even. They may hav spent more on keeping it clean than I did to get it.

Bone stock aside from silicone vacuum lines & IPD HD TCV. I will be putting on silicone IC hoses (I have them on hand) & ordering an ARD Tune.

Very NICE!!! I always told myself "If I can't get a yellow 850 wagon I would get a '98 V70R". That was my plan. Do enjoy. Is it still AWD?

Congrats! I have a 94 940 and am about to buy a 98 V70 XC this week. I'm excited too. Hope all goes well. Looking forward to pics.

Nothing is removed under there, but there is an occasional shudder at low speed when turning. It doesn't shudder every time, and seems to occure more freqnently when making a right turn, which seems odd to me. I need to get it up and the air and do some checks on it. I remember seeing records for servicing the drive line and replacing the prop shaft. There are just so many records, I'd really like to get them entered into a spreadsheet. That was the only obvious problem with the car, and with an easy out option of going FWD, not enough to deter me. There also was a pending EVAP code, but I cleared it and have filled up since and it has not returned. At this point, I'd attribute that to a loose fuel cap.
