I lost my one and only key

I have lost my only key to my 1998 V70. I was told that I would have to have my car towed to the closest dealership which is over an hour away, and that it would cost me close to 200+ to have a new key made....there has to be any easier way! Any suggestions?

You can contact a stealer in the morning and have them overnight you a key for about $55. If the closest one wont do it contact another from another state. They do NOT need the car on a '98, the key is NOT chipped. Then do the smart thing a order a spare key while you're at it.

I will try that, and most definitely will get a spare while I'm at it (my dad has been saying the same thing for months and now he can say I told you so). Thanks.

Wow! That's cheap. Our local stealer charges $63 and I got mine from University Volvo in Charlotte NC. They shipped me one for $38.

I emailed them a PDF of PA Registration and wife's PA Driver's License. They mailed me a cut key. Works perfect.

The $10 keys from the Volvo dealer in Kansas City are also pre-cut, $11.50 shipped per key, and the ad is still running on eBay ...

Just call them up, same deal you send them a scan of your DL and registration and a key shows up in the mailbox a few days later.

The ebay deal is amazing!! I spent over 90 bucks to have two made for my V70. I'm getting a couple more from this place. I bet we can talk to these folks to see if they can get other Volvo parts at a decent price level. 11.50 is really incredible.
