Had to take my T-5 for good drive today to collect some parts [oops slide into a post] now the car is kicking at 60-70mph only when boost needle goes around 3/4 also Lambda light has come on. Slower speeds the car is fine ok the accelerator pedal is incredibly stiff any suggestions ?
I'm going to have a look over the weekend along with fitting a new PCV [dreaded oil is coming out of filler cap]

It has been suggested to be one of three main areas causing this kind of fault
1: spark plugs are past it
2: Vacuum leak on the actuator
3: Speed or RPM Sensor [coincedentally my speedo has stopped working]
A better explanation of the fault its more like the car is stopping the fuel pump any futher suggestions greatly appreciated

It sounds like the ECU's cutting out the fuel flow. It could be a wastegate actuator is allowing it to over-boost, and the ECU in return is like "hey! no! don't do that!" I doubt it is the RPM sensor if you're not stumbling at other rpms, and the speedometer on a 97 is controlled by the ABS module.
Could also be a vacuum leak at one of the turbo lines.
Does it do the same thing in 1st gear at higher revs, or only around 60 in 2nd?
The best thing to do would be to get the codes pulled

It's only around 60 mph it happens never in lower gears. This morning "Sport" mode has stopped working with not speedo, RPM is fine. [finally a good point to satnav]jablackburn wrote:It sounds like the ECU's cutting out the fuel flow. I bet it's the yellow vacuum line to the turbo control valve. The wastegate is supposed to relieve excess pressure to keep you from overboosting, but it can't do that if the line that opens it is cracked. Therefore, the ECU's compensating and cutting back on the fuel. Have a look-see at the lines there.
The speedo is probably either a wheel sensor out of whack or the ABS module up and died. You don't have any lights? I guess that makes GPS good for something
As a map maker, I hate the darn things. I have a decently nice model, and it's still a complete idiot, trying to take me up unpaved gravel or crummy secondary roads whenever it has the chance.
Have you seen this for R&R'ing the ABS module yourself?

It is the yellow one and the blue and the other one, cant say what colour that was its missing. Yellow one is connected to nothing its crumbly, blue one connected to nothing just sitting on the airbox hose doing nothing, other one gone I know theres supposed to be a third because theres a tiny bit left on the actuator. Hole in the Intercooler pipe.jablackburn wrote:I bet it's the yellow vacuum line to the turbo control valve. All pipes on order from local volvo main agent [main stealer as I call them because of the prices £10.50 a metre of 4mm vacuum hose]

I'm kinda surprised it's boosting at all then!
Here's a diagram for you when you get em all fixed up:
