Hey guys,
My brakes have just started to screech and squeak really loud in the last couple of days so i figure its time for new pads and rotors as i have no records of the previous owner doing so. Just a few questions...
1. stick with Volvo OEM ?
2. any Canadians on here have problems with shipping from IPD?
3. Volvo Dealer vs IPD? anyone have preferences over the other?
side note... not sure if the picture uploaded right or not but my Volvo hit 325,000 KM today

Depending on what your rotors look like or whether you're going to have them cut you may opt for a softer pad that does not sacrifice performance. Getting new pads that are too hard may give you some noise, thought not bad, while seating to the rotors. There are many good name brand Aftermarket pads so the OE Volvo is not necessarily a better buy.

It also depends on your driving habits. I tend to hammer it a little more than others, so I opted to go with Akebono pads and Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors, a good step up from OEM parts.
Either way you go, the key with our cars is to make sure you install the shims between the pads & caliper pistons, and slop on a lot of brake grease. I've not had a lick of trouble or noise from my setup for a few years now.

Sorry, I missed the rotor part for some reason.
I believe I have 4 Zimmerman X-Drilled Rotors and O'Reilly Organic Rear pads. Purchased the car in Jan 12 and the rears were starting to make noise. Although the brakes did not vibrate the braking felt smoother and sure after installing the rears.vjaneczko wrote:
