Rear drive axle removal

Post by tvsmij »

Started off just changing the rear wheel bearings which ended up requiring alot more effort than I anticipated. Driving three months after I knew they were bad was not a good idea! The cv boot the drive side ended up getting torn and the splines on the shaft were so badly coroded that I decided to get a new drive axle. So now my problem is getting the axle out. Now these are not bolted on and are basicly held in by a clip correct? Do I just just keep spinning the axle while pulling out till the gap in the clip lines up and it slides out or is there something I'm missing or a trick to getting the axle out?
