The cruise control does not work. However, if i lift up the brake while driving the cruise control will engage, but once i let the brake back to normal it will stop.
Thoughts/solutions?

There are two switches that will cancel cruise on the brake pedal stem. On is the brake light switch and the other is an electrical switch with a hose also attached. One of those two is not adjusted properly or its bracket has come loose. Probably the dedicated cruise cancel switch with the hose. The brake light switch would give brake light and/or shiftlock on auto trans model problems.

Reach under the dash and move the switch closer to the brake arm.

There is a spring type clip that holds it in place make sure it has not come off or stripped the threads on the switch assembly. I don't know S70's so I do not know if a cover panel may need to be removed for easier access. The cruise switch is pretty universal though.
