I am glad you found it. Until you do the PCV system and the ETM cleaning may be you could reset the adaptatives.

Turn off all your accessories. Turn the ignition key to 0. Disconnect the negative and positive leads at the battery. Then hold the disconnected leads together for more than 5 seconds. This will erase the adaptatives memories. Reconnect the two leads in sequence, negative last with ignition in position II. Turn ignition to 0. When you will start the engine the ECM will initiate a learning cycle based on pre-programmed parameters. From there, the system will fine tune parameters to create new adaptatives. This may help remove the slight miss that you experienced.

For the spark plugs it look to me as a lean mixture. The fact that you cleaned the MAF may help. Also the quality of the fuel used may be an issue. A bit of MMO for a few fuel tanks would help clean the injectors or you can choose your own brand .

The difference between plugs is the hardness and longevity of the tip. The shop that rebuilt the head gasket on my minivan several years ago said they put Platinum in all the cars that they work on and it did not do well so I replaced them. Several months ago I replaced a set of Platinum plugs on a friend' Odyssey that looked in better shape than yours. The mileage and power increase considerably. They drove it from CA to TN where their son goes to college and they said the mileage was up and they never had their van run so well. I did put this in their motor oil that I changed for them. Costco Chevron 10W-40 plus:

They loaned me the car for a year (very thankful and great people) and I did a stage one where it was necessary before returning it. I was surprised at the huge difference in the fresh Platinum Plugs (NGK). For the Volvo as I mentioned before there are quite a few people who had problems with Platinums and after going with the Copper which wears out quicker the hard to diagnosis driveability issue went away.

Thanks for all of the information guys. I really appreciate it.

DGM, I will try the reset and let you know what happens. How many miles do you need to drive for the settings to take full effect?

I am not an expert in the field. I understand the basics. I can't answer precisely for our cars. Generally it can take up to 50 cycles to fine tune parameters. However I think that most of it is achieved within the first few cycles. The rest is only there for optimization.

This morning the car is running great. I stopped and picked up some fuel injector cleaner and filled up the tank, and within 5 blocks the check engine light came on. I am got p0300, p0302, p0305, and p0305. Can the fuel injector cleaner cause these types of misfire codes?

I don't think so. Does your tank was full when you add it? I would erase the codes and use the car for a while and see what will come up.

If it returns this video from Scott Kilmer offers clues on what to look for.

What is the proper gap for the plugs? This would be the only other thing I can think of that would affect more than one cylinder.

Today I pulled and re-gapped the new plugs. It did flash the CEL and I got a p0303 code. Hey, at least the p0300 is gone. I'm starting to wonder if these plugs are going to work for this car. I don't ever feel a misfire.

The coppers may work better! May need to try the inexpensive experiment.
