I had read so many pros and cons about installing one but the flex in my C70 was driving me crazy.
I thought I was driving my dad's Ford Galaxy.
Well we're not yet at German handling but for $300, I would highly recommend adding.
I special ordered the brace OEM from Volvo & what a difference. It was installed in under an hour & must have cut the dreaded
cowl by 75%. and the slopiness in the wheel mostly disappeared.
Next year, I'll get rid of my '17 tires & buy some new '16's. That should help smooth things out even more.
BUY THE BRACE!
The Strut Brace Is On my C70!

The P80 cars had one characteristic if any: they were anything but stiff. If you've ever parked with a wheel on a curb and couldn't open a door because of it, you know this firsthand.
IMHO the brace makes a great deal of improvement in handling, as well as ride, but no 850 I've driven has what I'd call good road feel. The brace helps turn-in yes, but cars either have road feel or they don't. Volvo P80s don't. (Your C70 might be a P2 car, I forget where the cutoff is for those. Either way, P2s don't have BMW road feel either
Sorry to get "cup-half-empty", I don't mean to. Good to hear it helped so much, BJC.

True the 850 chassis was not the most sporting chassis but compared to the old RWD one it was leaps ahead.
Still; doesn't stop this guy from having some fun on a track. The rear end was a little high and the overall look was floaty:
