Hello everyone.
So I'm coming from the Jeep world and am new to the volvo world here with my newly aquired 1990 740 ti.
I'm doing all the tune up items i can thing of one being a transmission filter change and fluid flush. I've bought the ipd flush kit however the directions don't say anything about changing the filter. So, how should I go about doing this? Should I do the flush then change the filter. or filter first then flush. any insight would be great!

Hi Travis,
I just did the flush on my 740 with the same IPD hose. The procedure went well but I noticed that my ATF came out a lot faster than the directions mention. In hindsight, I would have drained the fluid first, cleaned the screen, checked the magnet and then put it all back together and added new fluid to spec. Then, I would have done the flush. My thought is that the flush procedure is good but I'm not sure it will address particles lodged in the screen or sludge in the bottom of the transmission pan. Next time, that's how I'll do mine.
May seem a little wasteful of new ATF but if you're going to go through the trouble???
Have fun!
