I wouldn't panic. I would drive it and watch it for a few days. The pump on my 740 leaked for about 60,000 miles and the one on my 960 leaked for about 8 months before I changed it (about 12,000 miles).
Looking at the pic, the bottom bolt near the tensioner, about 11 o'clock, looks to have coolant on it as well. I would do as Ben suggested, make sure the bolts are snugg and watch it for a week or two. If it still leaks, order a pump and change it on a slow day or weekend. Just keep an eye on your temp in case the perpeller inside falls off and you loose coolant circulation. When I installed the new pump it leaked a little a few days later and when I checked the bolts about 1/2 of them were loose. So I snugged them down and the leak went away.

As for the whitish greasy looking stuff. Again, I'd wipe it down and check in a few days.

The CV boot / axle problem could go on for years. The boot tears allowing the grease out, then dirt and grit gets in and starts to wear down the bearings / joints. Once the joints are worn they need replaced.

It is helping me breathe better. There are too many items on my household to-do list. I am spacing these out to balance priorities.

Thank you.

The color of the grease makes me think water got into the cv boot.

The little slit is now sealed. While patching, it was only when stretched the opening was wide enough for unwanted fluid to get in, but then the grease coming out would not leave a passage for the lesser viscosity fluid from out side enter.

Granted it will deteriorate, the quality of rubber and clamps are in relatively good condition. Are there other locations that I should look to find an entry point?

I need more time to replace CV boots. Add 90 grams of grease and resealed.
