Strange problem with '91 740 Turbo
I am confused over a problem that just came up with my 740 T. Four days ago it was running as well as it ever has. I thought the heater core might be leaking so I looked around in there and all seemed fine. Started the car a few times and ran the heater and discovered no leaks. After a long day at work I decided to put it back together the following night. The next night I put the dash back together and went to start her up. It just turned over and over and over and would not fire up. When I cut the key off a few of the instrument cluster lights stayed on (i.e. turn indicators, high beams, up-shift arrow, and a few others right there next to them). The fuel guage was also not registering the full tank of gas I have in the car. I also noticed a kind of clicking noise coming from under the car but could not tell exactly where from. I disconnected the battery to cut off the dash lights and the clicking sound. Like I said, the car ran extremely well 24 hours earlier and was driven probably 500 miles the previous week. I am very confused as I am mechanically inclined on both autos and cycles. Any helpful info I receive will be both considered and appreciated! Thank you, JB in NC

double check your work. It sounds like you either shorted something out or connected up something that should not be connected. I did this and promply burned out my electronic speedometer by connecting the tach wire to the back of the gages. Car would not start. I thought it had fallen off but it was not being used cause I do not have a tach. I am from henderson county! good luck. If you want you can get a really good wiring diagram from volvo technical publications.
