PARKING BULB FAILURE

Post by paulanthonyfelton »

Can anyone tell me where the parking bulb is on my S60. I've asked so many people and I need to change it and get rid of the message on the computer!
Thanks
Paul

I didn't think the S60 had seperate parking lights - but just used the sidelights for parking lights - could be worng though.

Just turn the light switch to the parking lights - get out and wander around the car and see which one's blown!

Quite often though the warning comes on BEFORE the bulb has actually blown - but is pretty imminent. Also when you do find it - replace the opposite side as well. - they usually come in two anyway, if you replace just the one side quite often find the system still things there's a bulb out becuase of the resistance difference between the new bulb and the "older" bulb

Are you sure the message says "Parking Light" or does it say "Position Light"?

It is Parking light because my S60 D5 says the same thing. It appeared when I test drove the car. They replaced the bulb and it has now come back. Thanks for the tip. Mine is going in for a service within the next few weeks (its due in a couple of thousand miles) so I will get it checked out then.

Hi,

My rear lights fail often (once every qtr or so). What I do is, in the garage or outside during the evening, I turn on the lights and/or have a buddy press the brakes. I am behind looking for the failed light. After determing which light bulb. I replace it using ones I buy at Kragens. To replace the rear lights, in my S60, you open your trunk. On each side of the trunk you will see a round knob made of plastic. Turn it and it will release the felt undercovering. Once out you will see the module that holds a bank of light bulbs. Take the module out that holds the bank of light bulbs...turn and pull the broken light bulb to take out. And replace with new. Sometimes, the light bulb is not broken...just gently move the bulb and it may come back on. Yes..Volvo quality. Hope this helps.
