99 v70 xc starts but won't keep running

My "99" v70 xc awd came home with my wife a few days ago and she told me that the lights (ABS, BRAKE, ARROW, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) came on and the car stalled in an intersection, she got it home and I went out to read the codes and shut out the light (C.E.). I tried to start it after but it would stall after a few seconds. How do I trouble shoot this problem?

What codes did you read? Codes numbers make life a little easier. From there you need to check for fuel pressure at the end of the fuel rail. You can check fuel pressure with a cheap tire gauge but wear eye protection.

Lee,
I went out to check the fuel pressure I put the gauge on the stem just to make sure I was looking at the right spot then I got in and the car started and ran so I got out and put the gauge on the stem and it read 60psi. I took the car on several errands and it seemed to run fine. Today Sunday Aug 26 I again took it to run some errands and when I left the driveway I put my foot in it and it sputtered and stalled. I started it up again and it ran well for some time and then on the way home going about 45mph I stepped on it once again it sputtered and stalled. What now?

From 30sec of research on this site, sounds like it is your ABS module. I had the same symptoms, sent ABS module to forum member Matty MOO to fix. after that, no more stalling and no more problems.

Also could be a fuel pump relay going bad, happened to me a a few months ago. Car would start and run fine sometime, then other times would stall when I tried to accelerate.
